Former "Literacy" (Voting) Test from Alabama
The following test was given to prospective Black voters (prior to the 1965 Voting Rights Act) in Alabama. The test was administered at the discretion of the registrar, who also determined what questions to ask, what constituted a passing score, and so on - the idea being that no Black would ever pass.
